Anybody know the exact colors for the helmet and robes? Maroon under robes (even though Lucas said Maroon for the outter robes and helmet) and fire engine red (or candy apple red) seem to be what I've seen but I want to be sure before I get the robes and paint my helmet.
Thanks

The most important thing is to match the outer robe & helmet. If the two colors look good together you're doing good.
That said, most people use Krylon's Banner Red for the helmet and match the color of the fabric to the helmet. I don't get it, personally - it's easier to repaint the helmet than it is to dye the robes!

Thanks, that was what I was thinking... but you confirmed it. Big help thanks. Now I can get started with the robes and then the paint on the fiberglass.

Just a general question, my helmet needs paiting. I looked at getting automotive paint and other needed stuff and it's really expensive. Any general clue what a body shop would charge to paint the helmet? Unless I take it to several places whey won't even tell me if they will do it.

I found a local custom painter, He used a swatch from my robe to match it to my cloak. He did a great job, and only charged 125.00 for the paint job. Not bad considering some spend 140.00 or more at maco. He was used to painting motorcycle helmets, So it wasn't far removed from that. I think thats who you should look for in youy area, A custom painter that specializes in helmets. Hope this helps. MICHAEL

I just bought a helmet, and I'm going to try Krylon Fusion (Red Pepper) It is made for plastic, and my new helmet is plastic. The shade of red is very clear, and bright.

I've got that around, too. I haven't tried it, though. Post pics when you give it a few coats - I'd love to see!
